Description

Introductory course intended for instructors looking to teach Columbia Learning Courses (FR, EMR, First Aid & Paramedic) by delivering the following Learning Objectives:

1)     Learners will understand the vision and scope of this training program. Instructor candidates will learn how this program supports three different student learning options. The FoI program will outline the benefits and design of this complex structure as well as the potential challenges of incorporating three differing student streams. We will also present proven strategies to facilitate all three groups.

2)     Learners will understand how to navigate the web-based student and Instructor resources.

3)     Learners will understand important Columbia Learning specific educational competencies. This will be accomplished through required completion of the online portion for the First Aid and/or FR/EMR courses (depending on instructor qualifications) as well as practical skill stations in class.

4)     Learners will understand and apply adult education principles. 

5)     Learners will develop and apply formative and summative examination guidelines and principles.
